Also called a Maltipeke, Peke-A-Tese, and Pekeatese, the Peketese is a cross between the Pekingese and Maltese. It has a round face, round, black eyes and nose tip, and hanging ears. They have a small but stout structure, with short legs. Their coat is dense, straight, and long and can come in black, white, brown, and golden.
Like most other Pekingese hybrids, the Peketese are quite independent-natured, but are also loving, loyal, and protective.
Due to their fearless nature, they wouldn’t allow a stranger to get too close to the boundaries of their owners very easily as they would begin to bark right away; alerting their owners. This trait makes them the Peketese a decent guard and watch dog.
The Peketese make good apartment dogs as well since they are usually not active much indoors and are playful with a gentle demeanor towards children other dogs.
Care and Grooming
The Peketese needs moderate grooming even though they shed minimally. It is good to brush them a couple of times every week.
This breed needs regular and proper exercise. A daily walk will help to maintain a good physical and mental health in general.
Like all dog breeds, it is important to begin training your Peketese while still young to prevent bad behavior later in life; such as socializing your dog so as to keep away the possibility of aggression towards strangers.
