We were a very proud sponsor of Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s 2019 and 2020 Dine With Your Dog events in Phoenix and Scottsdale. We are thrilled to announce the events raised over $200,000 to benefit the PetSmart Charities Paws Can Heal Animal-Assisted Therapy program!

Dine With Your Dog began more than 10 years ago in the backyard of a Phoenix Children’s Hospital doctor, as a way to thank pet therapy teams for volunteering their time and sharing their love with the children and families of Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH).

Today, Dine With Your Dog is a major fundraiser for the hospital’s Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) Program.

Scientific research shows a patient’s interaction with an animal can provide positive physical and emotional benefits, reduce stress and invoke a sense of well-being. Among the other benefits of animal-assisted therapy are the ways it motivates children to:

• Get up, move, walk, leave their room and play
• Participate in therapy (physical, occupational and speech)
• Forget their discomfort or pain
• Interact more with others
• Improve their mood
• Improve their interactions with family and staff
• Do things that may be a struggle, such as eating, taking medication or waiting

Dine With Your Dog is a fantastic event and brunch where attendees get to pamper their pooches, pose for photos and enjoy a morning in beautiful downtown Phoenix while supporting pet therapy and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is the sixth-largest children’s hospital in the nation, providing world-class care in 75 subspecialty fields of pediatric medicine. It operates urgent care centers in Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Avondale, and Yuma. Each year more than 150,000 patients are treated with the best medicine and care available.
