The Dorkie is a beautiful mix of the Yorkshire Terrier and Dachshund bred as a family pet originally in the 90’s. Though hybrids like this tend to vary, they typically stand about seven inches tall and grow to be no more than 8-10 pounds on average. Like their Dachshund heritage, they typically have big floppy ears, long torsos and short legs. Their tail is medium to long and their hair is typically thick, long and straight, coming in different variations of black, brown and tan.
