Description

The Havachon, also known as a Frise Havanese, is a small cross between Bichon Frise and the Havanese. It weighs about 6-12 lbs. and is about 9-12 inches tall. It has a medium length tail, a muzzle that points slightly up, and round shaped eyes which can be dark brown or black. Its ears droop down and they have a double coat that is soft, long haired, and silky. Common colors for the Havachon are white, cream, gray, black, brown, silver, and blue.

Temperament

The Havachon is very loyal and affectionate to its family with a sweet and eager-to-please attitude. They are, however, also an inquisitive and independent breed which can sometimes lead to stubbornness. This fluffy little dog can be great with kids and can do equally well with guests or strangers. Although they are usually quiet and unaggressive, they make good watchdogs because of their alertness.

Grooming

The Havachon can inherit either the curly coat of the Havanese parent, the dense hair of the Bichon Frise, or sometimes a combination of both. Therefore their coat type needs regular brushing to prevent getting tangled or matted.

Training

The Havachon is intelligent, loves to do tricks, is curious, and tends to like learning, so it can pick up training and tricks easily. Due to their inquisitive and independent nature, though, they can sometimes be stubborn.

Exercise

Havachons are playful and active dogs that need exercise. A daily walk is recommended. Keeping them engaged with indoor activities, toys, and other play will also help.
