The Kleekimo is a cross between the American Eskimo and Alaskan Klee Kai breeds. Like it’s Klee Kai parent, the Kleekimo looks somewhat similar to the Siberian Husky only smaller. Its coat is soft like the Eskimo and Klee Kai parents and can come in a variety of colors such as white, black, cream, or a combination of colors. Temperament
The Kleekimo is a cross between the American Eskimo and the Alaskan Klee Kai breeds. The best way to determine the temperament of a hybrid breed is to look to their parents. The American Eskimo is an affectionate, charming, alert, hardy, and playful breed. It is also good for children. Due to the breed’s high intelligence and its willingness to please, it is easy to train. The American Eskimo enjoys activity and work. Without enough mental stimulation and physical exercise, they can become hyperactive, high strung, and exhibit destructive behaviors.
The Alaskan Klee Kai is friendly, docile, and loving but can be somewhat reserved around strangers. This breed also has a high energy level. Without the proper amount of daily mental and physical exercise, it can become high strung or exhibit destructive behaviors.
Of course, puppy personalities vary depending upon lineage and the way they are raised. Socializing a Kleekimo early on and rewarding good behavior will help ensure that your puppy will grow up to take on the best of both breeds that make this hybrid. Care and Grooming
The Kleekimos typically keep clean by frequently grooming themselves. They only need a minimum amount of grooming for this reason. Brush their fluffy coat regularly, however, they do not require frequent haircuts. Klee Kais shed heavily twice a year, so be prepare for extra shedding from your Kleekimo during the transitional seasons.
