Description

The Mauzer, also called a Malzer, is a cross between the Miniature Schnauzer and the Maltese breeds. The Mauzer is a small-sized dog with floppy-ears and long hair. The roundish shape of its head and stout neck is very similar to its Schnauzer parents. They have round eyes, black to brown nose, and a long muzzle. The Mauzer’s coat can come in a variety of colors including gray, black, white, and brown.

Personality

The Mauzer is an affectionate dog that is fond of their owners as well as children. They are also bubbly and playful, although, can sometimes be nippy and bold at the same time. They are usually comfortable with other pets in its family, especially if they are brought up together. The Mauzer’s loyalty also makes them a watchdog.

Grooming Requirements

The Mauzer is low-shedding but needs at least one brushing per week to keep its coat from tangling and getting dirty. It is also a good idea to brush its teeth once a week.

Exercise/Energy Level

Being a little dog, the Mauzer does not need any large spaces or vigorous exercise. Taking them out for short walks and jogs once a day should keep it mentally and physically fit. This should also ward off the possibilities of any possible destructive or behavioral issues in future.

Additional Information

The Mauzer is an intelligent dog and wouldn’t take long to pick up training or tricks. As with other breeds, it is best to train and socialize the Mauzer as a puppy in order to avoid behavior problems as it gets older.
