Temperament
Since the Shiranian is friendly they can sometimes become overly attached to their families, often remaining close to their owners. If left alone for too long they may suffer from depression and boredom and could exhibit destructive or aggressive behaviors. However, due to their friendly and happy disposition, they are known to be good with children and other pets. But due to their easygoing and sociable nature they do not make a good watchdog.
Care and Grooming
The Shiranian has a thick covering of fur and therefore needs daily brushing to prevent matting and to keep dead hairs away. It is good to bathe them only when it is necessary, which helps to keep its coat clean and shiny.
Exercise
Being surprisingly energetic for its size, the Shiranian needs sufficient exercise in the form of short, regular walks. However, too much strenuous exercise like extended hours of walking could be harmful. It is best to provide ample opportunities to play indoors or inside a fenced yard.
Training
This breed is intelligent and can learn quickly, making it easier for you to train. As with other breeds, it is good to start training and socializing the dog at a young age. By accustoming them to training and grooming early, you can prevent future behavioral or health issues.
