Care and Grooming

Yorkiepoos typically have a somewhat scruffy coat, although it can also have a curly coat like its Poodle parent. A Yorkiepoo’s grooming needs will depend on its coat, but all Yorkiepoos need regular brushing. The ones with a curlier Poodle-style coat require grooming about every four to six weeks. It is essential to take good care of the coat because without regular grooming it will quickly become matted; which can cause skin infections at the roots of the hair.The Yorkiepoo’s ears also need to be kept clean and dry to minimize wax buildup. Clean them regularly with an ear cleaning solution. Trim their nails as needed and brush their teeth frequently for overall health and fresh breath.

Exercise

Yorkiepoos don’t need an excessive amount of exercise; just a little bit of a walk around the block should be okay. A fenced yard or play area is also great. Their minimal need for exercise makes this crossbreed a good pet for many living situations.

Training

An easy to train dog, the Yorkiepoo is eager to please its owners. Teach your puppy to socialize and be obedient while it is still young. Mental stimulation and social interaction are important to keep them mentally and physically fit. The Yorkiepoo has the potential to become great at obedience and agility and can become a good therapy dog.
