Temperament
The Yorkiepoo is affectionate, loves to be with people, and attaches to family quickly. It is friendly, playful, and smart. It is also generally lively and spunky. Due to their attached and affectionate nature, they are not a breed that does well being left alone for long periods of time. Yorkiepoos crave attention from their human companions and when alone or bored may bark incessantly or dig on the furniture cushions.
Care and Grooming
Yorkiepoos typically have a somewhat scruffy coat, although it can also have a curly coat like its Poodle parent. A Yorkiepoo’s grooming needs will depend on its coat, but all Yorkiepoos need regular brushing. The ones with a curlier Poodle-style coat require grooming about every four to six weeks. It is essential to take good care of the coat because without regular grooming it will quickly become matted; which can cause skin infections at the roots of the hair. The Yorkiepoo’s ears also need to be kept clean and dry to minimize wax buildup. Clean them regularly with an ear cleaning solution. Trim their nails as needed and brush their teeth frequently for overall health and fresh breath.
